Pregnancy and Postpartum Items I’m Still Using 6 Months Later
I don’t know about you, but when I buy something, I want to get my money’s worth out of it. Now I’m 6 months postpartum, and when I realized I could continue using some of my postpartum items in a “not so postpartum” way, I thought I wouldn’t gatekeep, and with Amazon Prime Days right around the corner, here is your chance to score some great deals!!
Clothing
I was really lucky that I didn’t gain an excessive amount of weight during my pregnancy, but pregnant or not, I live for comfort. So in the height of my pregnancy, I ordered some buttery-soft yoga pants that would accommodate my growing belly. I lived in these and loved that they had side pockets so I could keep my phone or, you know, some snacks. For a max of $9.99 per pair and tons of colors to choose from, I thought this was a pretty sweet deal.
Post-delivery, these were a lifesaver because I was still a little swollen from my cesarean, but I was absolutely comfortable rocking these around the house. As my body went back to pre-pregnancy form, I was kind of sad to have to retire them, but then I got an idea. The panel meant to accommodate a belly can actually be folded around your hips, so HUZZAH! I kept wearing them. Because they are stretchy, they aren’t baggy or loose, and they kept their softness even after what felt like a hundred washes from everything like spit up to diaper blowouts after bouncing Vivienne on my knee. You can click on the picture to find them on Amazon, and because I’m an Amazon associate, you are getting the best deal on them!
Postpartum Kit Items
I was gifted the Frida Mom C-Section Recovery Kit after I had Vivienne (spoilers, we were not prepared for a C-Section), and in that kit were some incredible grippy socks and a peri bottle, which I never needed to personally use. When Vivienne got her first really bad diaper rash at a month old, I was given some advice by the pediatrician to put aside the baby wipes and just use water to wash her bottom. This was the most natural way to avoid continued irritation. The pediatrician taught me to take a paper towel and let that drip down to clean the baby, but I recognized there had to be a better way to get Vivienne’s tush truly clean, especially those messy newborn poops. Enter the peri bottle.
This little tool meant to help momma’s stay clean was a complete and total game changer when it came to keeping Vivienne’s bottom fresh during bad diaper rash flares. It’s amazing how a peri bottle can serve as a portable bidet for the baby booty. To this day, when we notice she might have a rash starting, we put the wipes down and grab the peri bottle. We use lukewarm water, and get to spraying. We have found that this significantly reduces her rash time, especially when used with a diaper rash cream. I highly recommend grabbing one of these to help with keeping your little one fresh and clean.
Unfortunately, those grippy socks that came in the kit aren’t available for standalone purchase, but I have put together some links to comparable items. To this day, I use those grippy socks to walk around the house or even do pilates.
- Grippy Socks – 6 pairs with lots of color options, prices range from $6.99 to $9.99 with a coupon available.
- Grippy Socks with Arch Support – different color options and quantities (3 pairs to 6 pairs options) will affect price.
While these are just three items I use quite frequently, I know there are a bunch more that other mom’s are using; because let’s be honest, in this economy we need to stretch those dollars, so BOLD BADDIES – comment and share what other items you’ve kept using in your post pregnancy journey.
