The Origin Story:

Boldly Unfiltered was born from a thought that came to me in 2021. I was going through a really hard time and learning some valuable lessons about the company you keep. From that turmoil, I wanted to create a space that celebrated unapologetically standing bold in your truth.

I bought the domain hoping it would inspire me to get moving so I could have an outlet for my unfiltered thoughts, but the universe had its own timing. For a little over two years, I had no more than a notes page on my iPhone that I would refer back to and add to when I had a spark of creativity.

Despite my little notes growing, and the immense amount of purposeful and productive healing I had experienced, I kept putting off creating this blog. I would have a good day when I would hype myself up only to have intrusive thoughts of “Who the hell wants to listen or read anything I have to say“. That little doubt kept me paralyzed and with it my musings safe and locked away on my mobile device.

When 2024 rolled in, I thought I was done with my self-doubt and far enough removed from the saga of the company you keep to have a level head and clarity about what I wanted to do with Boldly Unfiltered.

So I started writing with the gumption a new year brings putting the bones of the site in place and plans to expand my notes into fully realized content; finally making good on the promises I’ve made myself. Then as one who isn’t totally sold on the idea of blogging often does, I backpedaled – hard – and let the whole idea sit for another year.

But now, it’s 2025. My best friend Diandra inspired me (nay, lovingly bullied me) to start writing again and join her on her voyage into the blogosphere, so here we go – Boldly Unfiltered … Take Three – I’m excited to see how this manifests, and who finds this little slice of the internet on their journey.
